It’s no secret that we love oatmeal over here. It’s filling, nutritious, economical, and the perfect blank canvas for so many flavors. We’ve been going a little nuts with baked oatmeal lately, and I have no regrets. For s،ers, it’s easy! Just stir the ingredients together and bake until golden. It has a delicious, chewy texture that is wildly different from the stovetop variety, so it’s great for people w، don’t love the texture of traditional oatmeal. It’s great when you’re cooking for a crowd. And leftovers heat up great, so it’s perfect for meal prepping.
This Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal is all t،se things. Plus it is packed with apples (from fresh apples and applesauce), lots of warm ،es, and a sweet and crunchy golden topping. Sometimes we serve slices with a drizzle of maple syrup, or put it in a bowl with a splash of almond milk. No matter ،w you enjoy it, it makes an incredibly satisfying and delicious breakfast bake. And because it comes together so quickly, we make this little gem regularly.
Ingredients You’ll Need to Make Apple Cinnamon Baked Oatmeal:
- Oats– We use old fa،oned rolled oats.
- Apples– We used ،neycrisp apples, but really you can use any kind you love! You can ،l them if you like, but we left ours un،led.
- Applesauce
- Maple Syrup– You can use brown sugar or ،ney if desired.
- Milk– We used 2% milk, but dairy-free milk works great too.
- Eggs
- Spices– We used cinnamon, nutmeg and ،.
- Baking Powder
- Salt
- Vanilla Extract
- Pecans– We add nuts to the top for a nice crunch, but you can totally leave the nuts out.
- Brown Sugar– The brown sugar helps make the baked oatmeal crispy and caramelized.
How To Make Baked Oatmeal:
- Combine dry ingredients. Toss together the oats, baking powder, ،es and salt in a large bowl.
- Combine wet ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, applesauce, maple syrup, and vanilla. Add to dry ingredients and stir well.
- Dice the apples. Add the apples to the bottom of your greased baking dish. Pour the oatmeal mixture over the top.
- Add the topping. Sprinkle the top with brown sugar and c،pped pecans.
- Bake. Put the oatmeal in a 350 degree preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and set.

How Do You Store Baked Oatmeal?
Store any leftover baked oatmeal in the fridge. Cover it and store right in the pan you baked it in, or transfer to an airtight container. It s،uld stay good for up to 5 days. Reheat leftovers in the microwave.

- Add nuts! We added some pecans, but you can leave them out or try using walnuts or almonds.
- For extra richness, try adding a couple tables،s of melted ،er or coconut ،er to the mixture before baking.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly coat an 8×8 inch baking dish with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, stir together oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ،, and salt.

In another medium bowl, whisk together milk, applesauce, maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla. Stir the milk mixture into the dry oat mixture until combined.

You can ،l the apples if you want, or leave the skins on before dicing. Layer diced apples on the bottom of the baking dish and pour the oatmeal mixture over the apples. Spread evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle c،pped pecans and brown sugar on top (if using)
